Kawther is committed to ensuring that every resident in our district has access to affordable and quality healthcare. Kawther supports expansion of Affordable Care Act and reduction of costs for essential services which include; insulin, etc. as a women of color, Over the years in the healthcare field, Kawther has worked with multiple organizations that support womens health, Kawther uniquely understands the importance of equal access to healhcare.

 

Job creation

My focus is on fostering economic growth and creating jobs in our district. I will support initiatives that promote small businesses, invest in infrastructure.

 

Affordable Housing

A major issue facing our community is the lack of affordable housing options. Housing costs have been rising steadily, making it difficult for working families, seniors, and young professionals to find homes within their budget. As your state representative l member, I will make increasing affordable housing a top priority.

 

Education funding

Quality eductaion is the foundation is the foundation of a thriving community. I will work tirelessly to secure fair and sufficient funding for our public schools.

 

Social Justice

Advocating for social justice is at the core of my campaign. I will work tirelessly to promote civil rights, and addresss systematic racism in all aspects of our society.

 

Combating Drug/Substance Abuse

Over the years, Kawther has worked with various organizations that help youth and others overcome Drug/Substance abuse problems. This is an issue thats hits home for Kawther as she has known multiple youth who overdosed over the years and met with families of those victims. Kawther believes that drug/substance abuse is a disease that needs to be treated and not a moral failure. Kawther will push for more funding for mental health services, early intervention programming and rehabilitative services for youth.

Kawther Musa's engagement extends beyond healthcare. She has played pivotal roles in various capacities, from serving as a Community Health Worker, addressing social determinants of health, to being a Diversity Fellow at the Nisonger Center at Ohio State University.

Her activism is evident through initiatives like organizing the Somali National Day and fundraising efforts for humanitarian causes, notably raising funds to support those affected by tragic incidents in Somalia.

Currently, she serves as a Federally Certified Health Care Navigator at UHCAN Ohio and collaborates with Heart of Ohio Family Health Center.
